Head of Faculty and Professional Services Finance

About the role

This senior position leads a newly created finance division supporting a prestigious London university. Reporting to the Director of Finance Business Partnering, you will shape the finance function, embed new processes and provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large, consolidated finance team, fostering an inclusive and high‑performing culture.
• Own the operational finance model, ensuring accurate month‑end, year‑end, budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, workflows and contribute to ERP planning and implementation.
• Build trusted relationships with senior leadership across the university to support decision‑making.
• Ensure robust financial control, compliance and data quality throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) with extensive post‑qualification experience.
• Proven track record of leading large finance teams and delivering change at scale.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategy.
