HR Advisor – London, Aberdeen or Port of Tyne

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our Employee Relations team, supporting our operations in London, Aberdeen and the Port of Tyne. The role will focus on maintaining compliant UK employment policies, advising on employee‑relations matters and driving strategic engagement with unions and works councils.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure UK employee policies are up‑to‑date and compliant with evolving legislation.
• Review and adapt HR policies and toolkits to reflect UK best practice and corporate principles.
• Advise business and PO colleagues on ER policies, escalations and deviations.
• Project‑manage and support collective people processes and HR change initiatives.
• Provide strategic advice on union engagement and relationships.
• Own the relationship with the UK Works Council and drive improvement and engagement.
• Support Head of UK PO on country HR agenda and priorities.
• Deliver ad‑hoc projects and tasks as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR/Employee Relations advisor with a solid generalist background.
• Strong competence in employee relations, including work with works councils and unions.
• Experience supporting offshore/operational as well as on‑shore teams.
• Chartered CIPD member or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to support organisational change and development.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organisation.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, delivery‑oriented team player with high professional integrity.
• Flexible working style and capacity to handle higher workload during busy periods.
