IP Counsel – Platform Governance (EMEA)

About the role

The Global Legal IP Protection and Platform Governance team at TikTok is seeking an experienced IP attorney to help shape and enforce IP policies across the EMEA region. You will work closely with business units such as TikTok Shop and TikTok UGC to ensure the platform remains safe and trustworthy for users and rights holders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and communicate global or regional IP governance policies, education articles, SOPs and tools for business units.
• Investigate, manage and resolve high‑impact IP disputes and related incidents.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners—including brands, industry associations, law enforcement and regulators—to set SOPs, advise on talking points and review agreements.
• Monitor local legal requirements, industry practices and business developments, providing guidance and leading implementation.
• Drive legal projects that raise IP protection awareness for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage local outside counsel to ensure quality deliverables.
• Organise and deliver IP training for internal colleagues.

Required profile

• Solid experience as an IP lawyer in a top law firm or in‑house legal team.
• Qualified lawyer familiar with IP laws, rules and regulations in the UK and EU.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to handle complex cross‑functional matters.
• Demonstrated critical‑thinking ability, comfort with ambiguity and fast‑paced environments.
• Experience developing and executing project plans and meeting tight deadlines.
