Junior Dealer – Futures and FX Trading

About the role

The Junior Dealer will support IG’s Flow Dealing Desk, managing the day‑to‑day trading book across FX, cryptocurrency and index products. You will monitor live positions, help control risk and ensure competitive pricing for institutional clients in a fast‑moving, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage intraday risk on FX, crypto and index products, escalating issues to senior dealers when needed.
• Maintain accurate, competitive pricing by tracking spreads, liquidity and market conditions in real time.
• Support client flow execution, including hedging with external liquidity providers.
• Analyse client trading patterns and flow toxicity using internal tools to inform risk decisions.
• Assist in onboarding new liquidity providers and prime brokerage relationships.
• Contribute to the development and testing of trading tools, pricing models and automated execution systems.
• Collaborate with quantitative and technology teams on analytics projects such as spread analysis, mark‑out calculations and price‑in‑size modelling.
• Produce regular reports on desk performance, client activity and market metrics.
• Provide weekend and out‑of‑hours coverage as part of a shift rota, including cryptocurrency markets.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects related to new product launches and market initiatives.
