Commercial Financial Controller – Luxury Construction & Fit Out

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Financial Controller to join a leading luxury construction and fit‑out firm in London. The role will provide hands‑on financial oversight across multiple high‑end projects, supporting the full project lifecycle from pre‑construction to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts and project reporting, preparing CVRs, WIP, accruals and revenue recognition.
• Support cost‑to‑complete forecasting, cash‑flow visibility and monitor project margins, subcontractor costs, labour recovery and variations.
• Identify commercial risks early, drive improvements in project profitability and financial performance.
• Strengthen financial and commercial controls, improve accuracy of reporting and embed purchase‑order and cost‑control processes.
• Partner with Project Managers and Commercial Teams, attend review meetings and provide insightful analysis and constructive challenge.
• Support senior leadership with decision‑driving financial insight.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in construction, fit‑out or project‑based contracting.
• Strong understanding of CVRs, WIP accounting, revenue recognition, cost‑to‑complete forecasting and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Ability to influence project teams and drive commercial accountability.
