NQ+ Associate – Policy & Coverage

About the role

Kennedys is seeking an NQ+ Associate to join its specialist Policy & Coverage team in Edinburgh. The role offers a unique opportunity for a qualified solicitor with a passion for insurance policy analysis and complex coverage disputes to work on high‑profile matters across the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Advise insurers on policy coverage and indemnity issues.
• Draft detailed coverage opinions across multiple lines of business.
• Represent clients in declaratory proceedings and coverage litigation.
• Support claims teams with strategic and commercial decision‑making.
• Collaborate closely with senior coverage specialists and engage with UK‑wide and international matters.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor (NQ+).
• Background in insurance, commercial litigation or dispute resolution.
• Strong written communication skills and a keen interest in policy wording and interpretation.
• Commercial, pragmatic and client‑focused approach.
