Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Temporal Reasoning and Ultrasound Video Analysis

About the role

The Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford is seeking a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Turing AI World‑Leading Fellowship programme. The role focuses on developing AI methods for temporal reasoning and ultrasound video analysis to support shared human‑AI decision‑making in healthcare imaging.

Key responsibilities

• Design and pilot‑test machine‑learning models for automated ultrasound video analysis that incorporate temporal reasoning.
• Conduct computational research on temporal reasoning techniques applied to medical imaging.
• Collaborate with clinical domain experts to design and evaluate models in simulated and real clinical scenarios.
• Perform quantitative studies of model performance and qualitative human‑factors assessments.

Required profile

• PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a relevant field.
• Publications in medical image analysis or computer‑vision video analysis.
• Strong interest in applying machine learning to real‑world healthcare problems.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary, highly motivated team.
