Project Engineer – Capital Projects in Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of capital projects across our food manufacturing sites. You will work closely with the Projects Manager and engineering team to bring new equipment and production lines from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Support CAPEX projects from design through to hand‑over, including a new state‑of‑the‑art sourdough bakery.
• Coordinate installation activities for equipment, production lines and infrastructure.
• Work with contractors and suppliers during installation and commissioning phases.
• Assist with testing, validation and commissioning of new assets.
• Monitor contractor performance, safety and quality, ensuring compliance with health, safety and food‑safety standards.
• Track project timelines, budgets and minimise disruption to ongoing production.
• Contribute engineering solutions for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Commercial, NPD, Finance and Leadership teams.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Exposure to installation, project or CAPEX activities.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Awareness of health & safety and food‑safety requirements.
