Quantity Surveyor – Major Infrastructure, Birmingham (Hybrid)

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high‑profile major infrastructure project in Birmingham. You will be part of a large, complex civil‑engineering scheme, working within an experienced commercial team that offers clear career progression, hybrid working and a healthy work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing project costs to ensure delivery within budget.
• Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts and budget updates.
• Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Assist with the management of variations and change‑control processes.
• Support subcontract procurement, including tendering and evaluation.
• Prepare and assist with interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to value‑engineering initiatives.
• Provide commercial support to the wider project team.

Required profile

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, civil engineering or utilities.
• Familiarity with the NEC form of contract.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to commute to Central Birmingham (minimum three days per week).
