Rehabilitation Physiotherapist – East Dunbartonshire Community Team

About the role

Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Rehabilitation Physiotherapist within the East Dunbartonshire Community Rehabilitation Team. Based at Kirkintilloch Health and Care Centre, you will work in a rapid assessment link service that bridges acute and community care, helping to prevent hospital admissions and support timely discharges.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and evaluation for patients with complex rehabilitation needs.
• Manage a defined caseload autonomously while contributing to multidisciplinary care planning and coordination.
• Support early discharge from hospital and prevent avoidable admissions through effective community interventions.
• Act as a key link between acute and community services, ensuring seamless patient care pathways.
• Provide expert advice, education and support to patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Contribute to service development, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervise rehabilitation assistants and support staff development and training.

Required profile

• Degree or MSc in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration.
• Significant post‑graduate experience, including senior‑level roles in relevant clinical areas.
• Proven expertise in rehabilitation covering older adults, neurology, orthopaedics and respiratory conditions.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning in complex patient care.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
