Security Officer – 12‑hour Shifts at Chesterfield Substation

About the role

Join a dedicated security team protecting a new substation construction site outside Chesterfield. You will work 12‑hour day or night shifts, providing a safe environment for staff, visitors, and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Man the gate house during day shifts, register visitors and control site access.
• Patrol the site in a vehicle during night shifts, covering remote areas and responding to incidents.
• Monitor CCTV systems and react to any activations or security breaches.
• Ensure unauthorised persons are prevented from entering hazardous zones.
• Maintain accurate logs of incidents, visitor records, and patrol activities.

Required profile

• Valid SIA licence (security guarding, door supervisor or close protection).
• UK driving licence.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work effectively within a large security team and collaborate with construction personnel.
• Professional demeanor with sound judgement and integrity.
