Senior Estate Services Operative – Caretaking

About the role

Join Raven Housing Trust as a Senior Estate Services Operative – Caretaking and help create safe, healthy estates for residents across Croydon and Brighton. You will be the frontline presence on the estates, ensuring communal areas are well‑maintained and supporting residents with everyday concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular estate inspections, addressing minor faults and keeping communal spaces safe, clean and presentable.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks and report any complex repairs to the appropriate teams.
• Support the management of anti‑social behaviour, environmental nuisance and fly‑tipping incidents, gathering evidence where required.
• Maintain a visible presence on estates, responding to resident queries and reporting safety or environmental issues.
• Engage with residents, promote community initiatives and signpost to relevant services.
• Liaise with internal teams and external partners to coordinate actions and ensure effective service delivery.

Required profile

• Can work under pressure, using initiative to prioritise tasks and solve problems.
• Confident using IT systems to record inspections, report issues and manage daily activities.
• Committed to Health & Safety, COSHH, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring issues are followed through to resolution.
• Effective communicator who can collaborate with colleagues, contractors and residents.
