Senior Marine Claims Adjuster

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Marine Claims Adjuster to join a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate. You will manage a diverse portfolio of marine claims, ranging from cargo and freight liability to fine art and specie, ensuring timely and cost‑effective resolutions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate within defined authority limits on technically complex assignments.
• Review policy coverages, determine exposure, and negotiate or defend claims.
• Manage a portfolio of marine claims, interpreting unusual policy language and escalating when necessary.
• Conduct investigations and evaluate claims through interaction with insureds, brokers, experts, and business partners.
• Collaborate with solicitors, brokers, and other stakeholders to develop resolution strategies.
• Identify high‑value or potentially fraudulent claims early and coordinate recovery actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling marine claims in both company and Lloyd’s market environments.
• Deep understanding of policy language, relevant law, and underwriting risk.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a cost‑benefit focus.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external partners at all levels.
• Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements; prior experience with ECF is advantageous.
