Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter to join a fast‑growing MGA operating in the UK commercial market. Based in London, you will work with a collaborative team, enjoy a high level of delegated authority and have the chance to shape underwriting strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite complex new business and renewal risks across commercial combined, property and casualty lines.
• Manage broker relationships through regular trading activity and face‑to‑face engagement.
• Monitor portfolio performance, analyse trends, and take corrective action to maintain underwriting discipline.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.
• Contribute to product development and continuous improvement of underwriting processes.

Required profile

• Experienced commercial P&C underwriter with a strong trading mentality.
• Background in an MGA or composite insurer environment.
• Minimum Cert CII qualification and willingness to continue studying.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Ambition to move into a team‑leading or managerial position.
