Senior Technical Accounting Manager – IFRS & UK GAAP Expert

About the role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Technical Accounting Manager to strengthen the Group External Reporting and Policy team as it prepares for busy half‑year and year‑end reporting periods. The role offers a hybrid working pattern with two days a week in the Strand office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on IFRS and UK GAAP, advising on complex accounting and reporting issues.
• Draft and review technical accounting papers for external auditors to secure swift sign‑offs.
• Lead policy development and implementation of new accounting standards across the Group.
• Collaborate with Legal, Treasury, M&A and other functions to deliver strategic accounting advice.
• Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• ACA‑qualified accountant with substantial post‑qualification experience, preferably in a large regulated utility.
• Proven ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑player with a keen interest in sharing knowledge across the organisation.
