Senior Town Planner (MRTPI Chartered) – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking an MRTPI Chartered Senior Town Planner to join a market‑leading planning consultancy in Birmingham. The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of strategic and development‑led projects, collaborating with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning applications and appeals from inception to decision.
• Provide commercially focused planning advice and produce high‑quality reports.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development.
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth.
• Engage with local authorities and key stakeholders to secure project outcomes.

Required profile

• MRTPI Chartered status (essential).
• Proven experience in a planning consultancy or private‑sector planning role.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and procedures.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Commercial awareness and a client‑focused mindset.
