Service Engineer – HVAC & Plumbing (Birmingham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join a leading specialist in critical air‑conditioning and chiller maintenance. Based in Birmingham, you will support commercial clients with installation, maintenance and urgent call‑outs across a range of HVAC and plumbing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installations alongside an AC fitter.
• Carry out plumbing works related to HVAC systems, including chlorination, sealed‑system testing and minor repairs.
• Inspect, fault‑find and maintain plumbing fixtures, pumps, valves and associated equipment.
• Install mechanical or plumbing systems as required on site.
• Respond promptly to urgent call‑outs and resolve issues professionally.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineers to solve complex problems.
• Maintain accurate job records and material usage.
• Deliver high‑standard customer service during all site visits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial or site‑based plumbing.
• Relevant plumbing accreditations (City & Guilds Level 2, NVQ Level 3).
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and installations.
• Interest or experience with ASHP technology (advantageous).
• Ability to read CAD plans and use IT systems confidently.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Physical fitness for varied site conditions.
• Valid driving licence and CSCS card.
