About the role
The Service Manager will lead the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in the Western Isles, ensuring high‑quality, accessible mental health care for children and young people. This senior position combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership in a remote, rural setting.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary CAMHS team, including nurses, psychologists and consultants.
- Ensure the delivery of CAMHS services meets the needs of the local population and complies with NHS standards.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and housing providers to support integrated care pathways.
- Develop and implement service improvement initiatives tailored to a remote island context.
- Oversee budgeting, staffing and resource allocation for the service.
Required profile
- First‑level Registered Mental Health Nurse with CAMHS experience.
- Proven experience in managing and leading multidisciplinary health teams.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑agency environment.
- Creative and flexible approach to service delivery in a rural setting.
Required skills
- Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification.
What we offer
- Band 8a salary £65,125 – £70,303 per annum plus Distant Islands Allowance.
- 36‑hour permanent contract with relocation expenses.
