Staff Nurse – Coronary Care Unit

About the role

Join the dedicated Coronary Care Unit team on Courtlands Ward at Worthing Hospital. This full‑time, permanent position offers the chance to care for a diverse range of cardiology patients, from myocardial infarction to heart failure, within a supportive and learning‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based clinical care to a cohort of cardiology patients in line with Trust values and professional regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to protect and promote patient health and wellbeing.
• Follow Trust policies, protocols and local guidelines in all activities.
• Act as a role model, communicating respectfully with patients, carers and staff.
• Accept delegated responsibilities from senior nurses, working within competence limits.
• Maintain and develop personal practice through continuous learning.
• Supervise and mentor students and junior staff, providing teaching and role‑modelling.

Required profile

• Current UK NMC registration.
• Hard‑working, proactive and eager to develop cardiology nursing skills.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.
