About the role
We are seeking a System Administrator to manage the software development lab environment, ensuring reliability, security, and performance for engineering teams. The role involves overseeing physical and virtual infrastructure, Windows domain services, and air‑gapped networks to support software development, testing, and validation.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and administer lab infrastructure, including physical servers, virtual machines, networking equipment, and storage systems.
- Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) – provisioning, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Administer Windows Server domains – Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user/workstation management.
- Operate and maintain air‑gapped systems with strict security controls and data‑transfer procedures.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions, including scheduling, monitoring, and routine testing.
- Oversee patching, updates, and system‑hardening to keep environments secure and compliant.
- Support engineers in provisioning lab resources and resolving system issues.
- Monitor system performance, storage utilization, and resource availability, recommending improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, network diagrams, and inventories.
- Ensure lab environments comply with IT and security standards, access control, auditing, and configuration management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for lab efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience managing virtualization platforms and Windows domain environments.
- Knowledge of backup technologies, system recovery practices, and network security principles.
- Experience working with isolated or air‑gapped networks and secure data‑transfer procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for complex system issues.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic engineering environment with cross‑functional collaboration.
- Good communication skills for supporting technical and non‑technical users.
