Teaching Assistant – KS1 Primary School (Wigan)

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive KS1 team at a well‑regarded primary school in Wigan. This full‑time position starts as soon as possible and offers the chance to make a real difference in young learners' lives.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the class teacher to support daily teaching and learning.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance for pupils needing extra help.
- Assist with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy activities.
- Help maintain a positive, safe and engaging classroom environment.
- Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, preferably KS1.
- Calm, patient and supportive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Proactive attitude and commitment to children’s development.
