About the role

Salford Business School is seeking a Vice‑Chancellor’s University Fellow to lead research on the implications of Artificial Intelligence for public policy, the regional economy and the future of work. Reporting to Professor Richard Whittle, you will join a vibrant community of scholars, policymakers and industry partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce high‑impact research on AI economics, AI harms and the future of work.
  • Develop and maintain policy engagement activities related to AI economics.
  • Support research‑led teaching, including executive education and supervision of postgraduate students.
  • Assist with funding applications and commercial AI initiatives.

Required profile

  • Demonstrated expertise in AI policy, economics or related social sciences.
  • Strong research track record with publications in reputable journals.
  • Experience collaborating with public‑sector bodies and industry partners.
  • Ability to secure and manage research funding.
