VAT Manager – Advisory & Compliance Role

About the role

We are seeking a VAT Manager to join a leading Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm in London. The role offers a blend of advisory and compliance work across a diverse client base, including entrepreneurial businesses, large corporates and multinational groups. You will work within a collaborative 15‑person Indirect Tax team, providing strategic VAT guidance and managing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of VAT clients across a wide range of sectors.
• Deliver a blend of VAT compliance and advisory services.
• Advise on UK and international VAT issues.
• Support clients with transaction planning and indirect tax risk management.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building long‑term relationships.
• Collaborate with corporate tax, private client and audit teams.
• Identify opportunities to add value and expand client relationships.
• Coach and develop junior members of the team.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (or equivalent) or similar professional tax qualification.
• Experienced VAT professional with strong UK indirect tax knowledge.
• Comfortable managing client relationships independently.
• Technically strong with a practical approach to tax solutions.
