Ward Hostess / Patient Dining Assistant

About the role

Join the Medirest Patient Dining team as a Ward Hostess, delivering warm, welcoming service to patients in a hospital setting. You will help meet patients' nutrition and hydration needs, contributing directly to their comfort and recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide menus, take patient orders and address dietary or allergen queries.
• Prepare and deliver meals and refreshments for breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
• Clear ward areas, wash dishes and ensure the kitchen is ready for the next service.
• Liaise with ward staff to ensure timely fulfilment of patient needs.
• Maintain a high level of customer service, always putting the patient first.

Required profile

• Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Passionate about patient care with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Confidence working in a hospital environment, including with patients who may be unwell.
• Willingness to learn and go the extra mile for patients.
