Warehouse Operative

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our fast‑paced team on a zero‑hour (bank) contract. You will play a key part in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time, supporting our next‑day delivery promise and high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately pick, scan and label customer orders for dispatch.
• Sort and allocate items to the correct delivery lanes efficiently.
• Prepare pallet and parcel orders for collection and assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely.
• Support delivery drivers with van loading and route preparation.
• Maintain well‑stocked picking areas through regular replenishment.
• Assist with goods‑in, stock checks and booking deliveries when required.
• Uphold housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
• Work towards and achieve picking and productivity targets (KPIs).

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (preferred).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, target‑driven setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
• Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills and confidence using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Forklift operation (desirable).
• Pallet truck operation (desirable).
