About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a popular mainstream primary school in Surbiton. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and offers the chance to develop your expertise in phonics and SEN support within a supportive senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering the Year 1 curriculum, with a focus on phonics.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils, including those with ASD and EBD.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding practices.
- Support classroom management and behaviour strategies as directed.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year experience in Key Stage 1 or 2 within the UK.
- Demonstrated phonics experience.
- Current safeguarding training (issued within the last year).
- Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly ASD and EBD.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
