Deputy Branch Manager – Winchester

About the role

The Deputy Branch Manager will support the Branch Manager in leading the Winchester branch, helping to achieve growth targets while ensuring high‑quality service for customers. This role combines people leadership with direct customer‑relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead the branch’s operations, including business planning, credit, risk, compliance and financial control.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of Corporate and Private Banking Managers and Assistant Banking Managers.
• Maintain and grow a portfolio of corporate and private customers, handling credit applications, risk analysis, annual reviews and profitability monitoring.
• Act as an ambassador for the bank, attracting new customers and introducers.
• Ensure adherence to the bank’s credit policy and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements in processes, products or technology to drive efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and people‑management experience in banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to develop customer relationships and meet sales targets.
• Good understanding of credit risk, financial analysis and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.

Required skills

• Experience with credit application preparation and financial risk assessment.
• Knowledge of banking regulations and credit policy compliance.
