Band 3 Ward Administrator – Swindon

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and personable Ward Administrator to be the first point of contact for patients, families and staff across BSW Community Hospitals. Based on Orchard Ward at Swindon Intermediate Care Centre, you will support the smooth journey of patients from admission through discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks to keep the ward operating efficiently.
• Support care coordination, ensuring patient records are accurate and up‑to‑date throughout the pathway.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
• Communicate clearly with patients, colleagues and external stakeholders via phone, email and post.
• Work proactively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Previous administration experience, ideally in a busy or customer‑facing setting.
• Ability to manage complex or sensitive situations with discretion.
• Strong interpersonal skills, confidence and empathy.
