Child Psychology Graduate – Primary School SEND Support

About the role
We are looking for recent graduates with a degree in Child Psychology or Psychology to join primary schools and support pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD and other additional learning needs. The placement offers hands‑on experience in a school setting, helping you develop the skills needed for a future career in educational psychology, therapy, teaching or social work.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with additional learning and emotional needs on a one‑to‑one or small‑group basis.
- Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to plan and deliver tailored support strategies.
- Assist pupils in developing emotional regulation, communication and confidence.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and school staff where appropriate.
- Encourage independence and engagement in learning activities.
Required profile
- Degree in Child Psychology, Psychology or a related discipline.
- Genuine passion for working with children and inclusive education.
- Patient, resilient and empathetic attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
