Communications Officer

About the role

Join one of Scotland’s leading communications teams and help shape the stories that change lives. As a Communications Officer you will work at the heart of a busy, high‑performing team supporting proactive campaigns and reactive media handling for a major housing and property‑management organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to media enquiries and support the handling of press issues.
• Write engaging long‑form content such as annual reports, press releases, statements and briefings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and key stakeholders.
• Identify and deliver proactive media opportunities that showcase positive community impact.
• Contribute to digital content creation for web, social media and video, or develop these skills on the job.

Required profile

• Confident communicator with excellent writing skills and a sharp news sense.
• Proven experience handling media enquiries in a press office or similar environment.
• Calm, professional approach with the ability to work under pressure and exercise sound judgement on complex or sensitive issues.
