Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst – Glasgow

About the role

Barclays is seeking a Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst to join its Glasgow team. You will work on the front‑line of trade approvals, limit monitoring and real‑time risk decision‑making, supporting front‑office and credit risk officers. The role offers deep technical exposure to excess management and counter‑party control within a fast‑paced investment‑banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial data, credit histories and economic trends to assess default risk.
• Monitor existing loan and trade portfolios, identifying potential credit deterioration and limit breaches.
• Support real‑time trade approvals and respond to credit‑risk hotline queries.
• Review post‑trade exposures, trade adjustments and excess management reports.
• Recommend loan or trade approvals, rejections or adjustments in line with bank policies.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies such as collateral management and restructuring.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work at a fast pace.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with front‑office, credit officers and internal teams.
• Willingness to develop expertise in counterparty control and excess management.
• Prior experience in credit risk, investment banking or related trade approval processes is highly valued.

Required skills

• Experience using AI or technology‑enabled tools to improve workflow efficiency.
