Cyber Security Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Cyber Security Officer to join our Managed Services team in Sheffield. Reporting to the Security, Risk and Compliance Lead, you will help safeguard our infrastructure, support customers and drive continuous improvement of our security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and resolve security incidents, documenting all actions in ticketing systems.
• Conduct internal technical and compliance audits to verify control effectiveness.
• Identify vulnerabilities across networks, operating systems, applications and databases, and guide remediation.
• Research emerging cyber threats and translate findings into improved tools and processes.
• Provide operational security support to managed‑services teams and maintain security procedures and policies.
• Liaise with customers, external auditors and project teams to assure compliance and deliver security documentation.

Required profile

• Experience working in and securing cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Previous role as a Cyber Security Officer or similar within a large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
• Good understanding of networking principles and security best practices.
