Executive Director – Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals

About the role

The Executive Director will lead Kings Oak and Cavell Hospitals, part of Circle Health Group, driving strategic and operational excellence. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for aligning the hospitals with the Group’s purpose and values while ensuring high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual strategic and operational plan for both hospitals.
• Act as the Registered Manager, maintaining compliance with all regulatory, legal and governance standards.
• Lead data‑driven planning, ensuring safe, responsive and well‑led services.
• Embed safety and quality throughout operations and pursue continuous improvement using audits, patient feedback and performance reviews.
• Oversee CQC (or equivalent) compliance, manage inspection responses and aim for an ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, regulatory compliance and CQC standards.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent postgraduate qualifications.
• Track record of leading teams, delivering financial and operational targets and driving improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing abilities.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
