Hire Controller – Plant Machinery Coordination

About the role

JB 1 Plant Hire Ltd. is looking for a full‑time Hire Controller to work on‑site in West Bromwich. You will be the central point for coordinating the hire of plant machinery, ensuring customers receive accurate quotations and timely delivery and collection of equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the hire process for plant machinery, from inquiry to delivery and collection.
• Prepare and issue quotations, maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
• Manage equipment schedules to optimise utilisation and minimise downtime.
• Liaise with customers to provide exceptional service and resolve any issues.
• Support the team in achieving operational efficiency and meeting business objectives.

Required profile

• Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities.
• Experience in logistics coordination or schedule management.
• Basic technical knowledge of plant machinery and an understanding of hire operations is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT tools and systems used for scheduling and documentation.
