Learning Support Assistant – Term‑time role in South East England

About the role
We are looking for a motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant 11‑18 school in South East England. Working term‑time only, you will help students with special educational needs (SEND) to fully engage in classroom and extracurricular activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Learning – SEND and subject teachers in delivering tailored learning programmes.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Offer personal care such as mobility assistance and toileting for students with disabilities.
- Accompany students on out‑of‑school trips and support them during access tests as a reader/scribe.
- Collaborate with educational psychologists, speech‑language therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Required profile
- Enthusiasm for learning and helping students become independent.
- C grade or higher in GCSE English, Mathematics and Science (or equivalent).
- Basic ICT competence to enhance student learning.
- Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to seek advice when needed.
- Commitment to professional development.
