Project Manager – End-to-End Project Execution

About the role

As a Project Manager at ABB you will lead end‑to‑end execution of medium‑size technical projects, primarily across the UK. The role is home‑based with regular travel to project sites, allowing you to guide on‑site activities while maintaining overall project ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Define project strategy and manage planning, resources, safety, and financial performance throughout the lifecycle.
• Be present on site during execution to support teams, ensure safe delivery and maintain quality standards.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities to optimise outcomes.
• Lead and motivate cross‑functional teams in a matrix environment, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors as a trusted technical and commercial partner.
• Maintain accurate documentation, ensure contract compliance, and support the sales phase through bid preparation and risk evaluation.

Required profile

• Higher technical qualification with at least 5 years of experience delivering complex technical projects.
• Proven experience as Principal Contractor with full responsibility for project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and RAMS processes.
• Electrical engineering background or significant electrical project delivery experience (essential).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a matrix organisation.
• Strong analytical, commercial and organisational skills, with budget and forecast management capability.
