Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer – Digital Transformation

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing digital consultancy to hire a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer. You will work on large‑scale digital transformation projects that aim to make the UK smarter, safer, cleaner and healthier, collaborating with developers, designers, data scientists and delivery managers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure deployment, ensuring zero‑downtime releases.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to build, manage and evolve cloud environments at scale.
• Engage directly with clients to understand requirements and translate them into secure, scalable DevOps solutions.
• Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, mentor colleagues and guide client teams.
• Improve security posture through automated monitoring, vulnerability detection and patching.
• Stay ahead of industry trends by introducing new tools, techniques and ideas.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with AWS DevOps engineering at scale.
• Proven track record in professional services or consultancy environments with client‑facing responsibilities.
• Familiarity with GOV.UK Service Standards and Technology Code of Practice.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in agile delivery settings (Scrum, GDS, etc.).
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts and build client relationships.
