Staff Bank Unregistered Nurse (Band 2-4) – Internal Applicants Only

About the role

This position is a Staff Bank role for existing Band 2, 3 or 4 unregistered nurses (Nursing Assistants / Health Care Support Workers) employed by NHS Ayrshire & Arran. It is open to internal applicants only and provides flexible, short‑term cover across the health service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance and patient care in line with NHS standards.
• Cover shifts and duties as required by the Staff Bank schedule.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on the ward or care setting.
• Adhere to health and safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.

Required profile

• Current substantive post as a Band 2, 3 or 4 unregistered nurse within NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
• Same role in your substantive position as the one you are applying for.
• Valid National Insurance number to confirm employment status.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom (or eligible for sponsorship).
• Reference from your current line manager.
