1st Line IT Support Engineer – Birmingham

About the role

We are looking for a 1st Line IT Support Engineer to join a leading property firm in Birmingham city centre. The role is full‑time and includes one day of remote work each week, providing first‑line assistance to internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line IT support, responding to user queries and troubleshooting issues.
• Log and manage support tickets, escalating when necessary.
• Set up and configure hardware, software and user accounts.
• Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist with basic network troubleshooting and connectivity problems.
• Support colleagues with technical guidance and advice.
• Document processes and update technical manuals.
• Collaborate with the wider IT team to improve systems and processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a 1st Line IT support role.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and a logical problem‑solving approach.
• Familiarity with setting up and maintaining hardware and software systems.
• Basic knowledge of networking and connectivity principles.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organised and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
• Ability to commute to Birmingham city centre.
