Accountant – Property Services Finance

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to join the Property Services Finance team of a leading social housing and property organisation. You will work within a high‑performing finance function, providing financial insight and supporting operational leaders across a large, complex portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and performance reports for Property Services activities.
• Deliver detailed financial analysis, variance reporting and key performance indicators to support decision‑making.
• Partner with budget holders and operational leaders to manage financial performance and achieve business objectives.
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for revenue and capital expenditure programmes.
• Provide technical accounting expertise for year‑end reporting, statutory accounts and audit processes.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records.
• Assist in developing financial systems, reporting tools and continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate with finance colleagues, operational teams, auditors and consultants on projects and initiatives.
• Deputise for the Finance Manager when required.

Required profile

• CCAB qualified accountant or finalist actively working towards qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience in a busy finance environment.
• Experience operating within a finance business‑partnering model.
• Excellent analytical skills and commercial awareness.
• Proven stakeholder management and communication abilities.
