Accounts & Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join our growing leadership team. In this role you will act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of SME owners, influencing strategy and delivering high‑quality tax and accounting services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the relationship with a portfolio of SME and owner‑managed clients.
• Interpret financial information and present practical, tax‑efficient recommendations.
• Oversee year‑end compliance work across multiple service lines.
• Support business owners with tax planning and commercial decision‑making.
• Coach qualified and part‑qualified accountants to maximise performance.
• Collaborate with partners on client meetings and strategic projects.
• Identify and implement improvements to internal processes and client service.

Required profile

• Experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship‑building skills.
• ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
• Ability to take ownership, solve problems and drive client success.
• Motivation to contribute to the firm’s growth and future direction.
