Analytics Lead

About the role

Core Ops is the team making sure the business runs on real, trustworthy data, and this role is the technical core of that: turning raw data into a clean, reliable foundation the rest of the business builds on.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leads across the company to turn a stated problem into a clear, defined, reproducible metric.
• Own the data modelling and transformation layer, building and maintaining the BI/reporting layer the business relies on as its single source of truth.
• Write SQL and build data models hands‑on, working closely with the tech data‑engineering team on the underlying warehouse.
• Maintain high data quality, catching and preventing issues that could undermine trust in reporting.
• Define marker points for trends or anomalies on core metrics and proactively flag business leads when thresholds are crossed.
• Grow into managing a small team as the function scales.

Required profile

• Experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer with strong analytics/BI focus, or Senior Data Analyst ready to take ownership of data modelling.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into reproducible data solutions and a desire to lead a small team of analysts.

Required skills

• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Data modelling experience in a BI/data‑warehouse environment.
• Hands‑on experience with a BI tool (Sigma) as the organisation’s single source of truth.
• Applied statistics for trend detection, cohort/retention analysis, regression and anomaly detection.
• Familiarity with forecasting or survival analysis (plus).
