Area Sales Manager – Industrial Automation (North East & Scotland)

About the role

Our retained client is a globally recognised leader in industrial automation and sensor technology. We are looking for a dynamic, commercially driven Area Sales Manager to develop the North East and Scotland territory, joining a respected automation brand with a broad portfolio of sensors, networking, IO-Link, RFID, machine vision, safety and connectivity solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow an established sales territory across the North East and Scotland.
• Develop relationships with OEMs, integrators, distributors and end‑user customers.
• Identify new project opportunities and drive specification sales activity.
• Provide technical and commercial support across the automation portfolio.
• Work closely with internal technical specialists and support teams.
• Deliver against agreed sales targets and growth objectives.
• Maintain strong market awareness and competitor knowledge.

Required profile

• Ambitious, technically capable sales professional operating within industrial automation, sensors, controls or related technologies.
• Backgrounds may include sensors, industrial networking/IO‑Link, PLCs & controls, machine vision, factory automation, robotics, electrical or mechanical engineering sales.
• Current roles may include Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Account Manager or Business Development Engineer.
