About the role

Babel is seeking a Software Architect to design and evolve AWS‑based solutions, ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, maintainable and aligned with business strategy. You will be the technical reference for AWS, guiding development teams and integrating platform components.

Key responsibilities

• Design reference architectures for products, modules and services on AWS.
• Define appropriate AWS services based on functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation and diagrams (logical, physical, integration, security, data).
• Design micro‑service and event‑driven architectures.
• Establish cloud‑native standards (naming, tagging, networking, security, observability, integration patterns).
• Participate in architecture reviews and ensure compliance with the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
• Identify and manage technical debt related to cloud architecture.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads and development teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Advise on key AWS decisions, deployments, integration, data and security.
• Support performance, scalability, resilience and integration issue resolution.
• Design and govern REST APIs and integration flows using SQS, SNS, EventBridge and Kinesis.
• Incorporate security and compliance using IAM, KMS, WAF and Secrets Manager.
• Promote high availability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
• Define technical quality criteria and monitor SLAs/SLOs with observability tools.
• Evaluate new AWS capabilities and propose balanced improvements.
• Share knowledge through documentation and mentoring.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and delivering cloud solutions on AWS.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and mentor development teams.
