Assistant Factory Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Factory Manager with a strong electronics manufacturing background to support the Factory Manager in Dartford. This hands‑on leadership role oversees PCB production, testing, and final assembly, ensuring targets, quality, and delivery commitments are met.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operations across SMT lines, through‑hole assembly, and final product testing.
• Monitor productivity, cycle times, and bottlenecks; minimise downtime through planning and problem‑solving.
• Ensure compliance with PCB manufacturing standards and drive process improvements.
• Manage quality by monitoring defect rates, conducting root‑cause analysis, and maintaining traceability.
• Lead and coach supervisors, team leaders, and production staff; oversee performance and workforce planning.
• Enforce health & safety, ESD controls, and conduct audits and risk assessments.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, and Kaizen.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electronics manufacturing, particularly PCB assembly and testing.
• Hands‑on leadership ability to support a factory manager and guide production teams.
• Strong understanding of health & safety and ESD requirements.
• Track record of driving process and quality improvements.
