About the role

Greene King is hiring a permanent, full-time Assistant Manager for its pub in George IV, Baldock. The role sits at the heart of the management team, supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the pub and leading the team in their absence. The advertised salary is 32,000 to 34,000 pounds plus bonus, with 45 scheduled weekly hours.

Key responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the business and lead the business in their absence.
• Bring the brand to life by leading the team in delivering great experiences for customers.
• Act as a role model for the team and support training and development.
• Uphold brand standards and ensure customer and team safety at all times.

Required profile

• Passion for delivering great customer experiences.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to get the best out of people.
• Ability to think on your feet and adapt to the challenges of a busy shift.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high standards.
• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.
