Assistant Showroom Manager – Fixed-Term (12-Month)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Showroom Manager to support the Showroom Manager in a busy retail environment in Cheltenham. This fixed-term, 12-month role combines customer-facing duties with back-office responsibilities, helping to drive sales and maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maximise sales opportunities and deliver professional, customer-focused service.
• Assist with recruitment, training, supervision and motivation of the sales team.
• Prepare staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage.
• Process in-store and online orders, coordinate quotations, installations and deliveries.
• Handle cash, end-of-day administration and secure the premises.
• Maintain accurate stock levels, support stock control and minimise wastage.
• Resolve customer enquiries and complaints promptly.
• Ensure the showroom is clean, well-presented and complies with health and safety policies.
• Provide operational support to other business locations when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail or showroom setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Capability to assume managerial duties in the Store Manager’s absence.
