Audit Manager – Commercial & Corporate Audits

About the role

This senior position will lead commercial audit work for a dynamic accountancy practice in Central London. You will balance audit delivery with account client responsibilities, overseeing a diverse portfolio of corporate and private equity clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit and accounting clients with turnovers up to £100 million, including AIM‑listed, private and PE‑backed groups.
• Lead both small and large corporate engagements, handling complex issues and ad‑hoc work.
• Assist Partners in planning and executing UK and international audit engagements, including client meetings.
• Drive business development by maintaining existing relationships and targeting new audit clients in London.
• Review and improve internal audit practices, quality control and compliance procedures such as money‑laundering checks.
• Oversee qualified audit staff on major client sites to ensure timely, high‑quality audit work.
• Act as a trusted adviser to major clients, maintaining strong relationships and portfolio value.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ICAS or ACCA accountant.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing audit portfolios, preferably from a Top 100 or reputable regional firm.
• Proven experience across commercial sectors, including OMBs, PE‑backed, listed and international groups.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Ambitious, entrepreneurial mindset with a view to partnership and RI status.
