Basketball Coach – Newham Leisure Centre

About the role
GLL is seeking a motivated Basketball Coach to deliver a structured basketball programme at Newham Leisure Centre. You will work with children and adults of all abilities, creating a safe, fun and encouraging environment where participants can develop their skills and confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality basketball sessions for a range of ages and skill levels.
- Maintain progression pathways and monitor pupil development.
- Set up and maintain equipment and ensure health‑and‑safety standards are met.
- Provide excellent customer service, respond to queries and promote the programme.
- Contribute to increasing participation numbers and overall programme quality.
Required profile
- Can‑do attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
- Passionate about basketball and able to inspire participants.
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Team player who can work collaboratively.
- Basketball coaching qualification (UKCC Level 2 or above).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Experience coaching in a community or leisure setting.
Required skills
- Ability to deliver basketball coaching sessions.
- First Aid competency.
