Building Surveyor – Subsidence Specialist

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor with a focus on subsidence. You will manage a portfolio of subsidence claims, conduct site investigations and provide expert recommendations to resolve complex structural issues.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a portfolio of subsidence claims, including landslips, sinkholes and voids.
• Attend sites to perform technical assessments and investigate claim causes.
• Determine causation, diagnose defects and assess policy liability.
• Prepare comprehensive ABI reports outlining findings and recommendations.
• Oversee complex repair schemes for sub‑structure and super‑structure elements.
• Liaise with contractors, external suppliers and the Contractor Network.
• Review claim variations and manage claim outcomes.

Required profile

• Prior experience in subsidence or loss adjusting is preferred.
• Professional qualifications such as MRICS, MCIOB or C.BuildE are advantageous but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and organisational abilities.
